Jen and her family were so amazing. Before we started shooting they said they were not very photogenic but once you see these pictures you can see they were fibbing lol. Jen and Shane were awesome and so sweet. The best part was after the shoot when they treated us to ice cream :) This was the first time we photographed in Edgewater and it was worth the drive. How we broke the rules for this family portrait

We shot our first family for Christmas Portraits this weekend. Ashley always coordinates all the clothes so well, even with breaking the rule of no plaids. LOVE the plaid with the setting we were in. It's interesting shooting in a setting like this in a beach town. Every one seems to want to shoot on the beach, this is a little different for the Daytona Beach area. We also tried some interesting posing. If you are thinking about Christmas portraits definitely ask us about our great deal we have.

What a week! We have been very busy lately catching up with everything. Just wanted to let you know we have our very own Macpherson Photography youtube channel. There is some behind the scenes videos and slide shows and a bunch of cool stuff. This past Saturday I had the opportunity to assist Curt Littlecott of Nu Visions Potography. We photographed a wedding at the gorgeous Bella Collina in Orlando. I can't post any photos from the wedding because I was working for another photographer but the venue was Ah-Mazing! I didn't know there were hills in Orlando and a resort that made you feel like you were in Italy. I believe you can see shots of the wedding on Nu Visions facebook page. I just wanted to post those few things for right now, thanks for reading.

It took three different tries but we finally managed to get an evening without rain. It was so worth the wait too, the light and sunset on the last night was amazing. Kristen is due in October and this week was the only time she could schedule for her maternity shoot. These shots came out awesome thanks to the great light and the excitement and anticipation of a newborn. We were so honored to take these photos. Some day when little Alli is older she will look back at these photographs and be able to see mommy loving her before she was even born.

We are working on a portfolio of surfer style fashion shots. Victoria and Kylee were our models for this shoot and did a great job. As it turns out we are also shooting Kylee's wedding in palm coast next year. Hope you all enjoy these shots, we have a few jobs coming up this weekend so we will have some more posts coming soon. Our latest shoot was Brian and Michelle's Daytona Beach Engagement. It was super fun and interesting. We were shooting under the pier and saw a water spout come onto the beach, it was crazy. Even through a little rain and waiting for the ferris wheel light to come on, we managed to have a lot of fun and get some great shots.

I'm so glad the wind and rain stayed away that night, the McNeely's came all the way from Hagan Georgia just to have their portrait taken. Crazy Photography Times

A lot has been going on recently that i will have to fill you all in on. No video this time just some pics. Connie has been working like crazy at school and is going to graduate in about 4 weeks :) pretty crazy. I started a spin-off photography company doing art pieces on cars if you want to check that out. We have been doing a bunch of jobs, Family, couples, portraits, have a senior shoot coming up soon, business is really starting to pick up which is a really good thing lol. Got to eat. Both of our families are coming down from New Jersey for Connie's graduation. I'll get to play some golf with my dad, haven't done that in a couple years. Hopefully my mother-in-law will make us some more home made spaghetti sauce, or if you are hanging out with Italians "gravy". i think there's still one more little tub of it left in the freezer from the last time she was down. She makes it in a huge pot so there's tons of it. Sooooo good. Well here are some really cool random shots from a bunch of shoots we just finished the last two months or so...

We are going to start video blogging our experiences of being professional photographers, and the ups and downs and day to day things that happen to us in our photography world. Well everyone, another week has passed and we have been staying very busy with everything. Connie has been going like crazy with school and I have been running around getting the biz up and running. We finally finalized a date but there was last minute problems so it was pushed back a week. We did a family/Senior shoot the other night down at Ponce Inlet. It looked like it was about to pour, we were flying through the shoot trying to get everything in. We saw the rain coming across the inlet so we ran under the pavilion and finished up. the light under the pavilion was actually pretty good. Andrea, the little one who just graduated kindergarten, was the cutest.

It looked like it was about to storm the other night right when we had a shoot scheduled. Lucky for us the clouds broke up and moved around us and didn't rain at all. We stopped by Sugar Mill Gardens first and took some sweet shots, then we hit up Wilbur Boat House. I really like how these shots came out. Sea world or Disney?

This year we ended up going to Sea World for some much needed R&R. Sea World was awesome, it was the first time we had ever been. Here are a few pics from our little adventure. Coming up this weekend we have a busy schedule... tomorrow we are getting our portrait done by a friend of ours, Sat. we have a wedding, Sun. we have a bridal shoot. Can't wait to shoot the wedding, looking forward to getting some really cute and beautiful shots. :)

Beach Rainbow

welllll. Hello everyone. Check out this awesome rainbow from yesterday. We went fishing on the beach right after a storm passed and there was this huge rainbow over the ocean. It was really cool cause the lightning was still streaking around the rainbow. My friend Patrick came fishing with us and was getting shocked a little when he had his flip flops off. That was a little unnerving. I guess the water was charged from the lightning hitting it and it must have been running up the beach. I kept my flip flops on just incase. We did end up catching like eleven or twelve keeper whiting. Anyways here is Connie's sweet shots (with a point and shoot sony no less) proving you don't need an expensive camera for amazing shots. Every time I see a rainbow now I think of this video.

We just got in... traveling in business style. After driving around Jax. for like 30 minutes we finally called the hotel and found we were on the wrong side of the river. A quick jump over the bridge and we are here. Hopefully we can get some cool river skyline shots, maybe tomorrow night.

We went up to the ocean walk in Daytona Beach with a couple of friends to watch the fireworks. I had an old canon 35mm manual film camera that i was using to shoot the festivities. They came out pretty good. Here they are with no editing or photoshop, these are straight off the film.

I went out shooting today for Connie's school assignment. She had to use a 4x5 film camera and get some shot with that, you can see her here. This is under the Dunlawton bridge. There were some dolphins hanging out and just floating around. As I was watching them I could see them starting to swirl under the surface, I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped off some quick shots. Enjoy...

We did a family shoot on the beach this evening and it was crazy windy. I didn't think the wind was going to be that bad when we got out there and it was whipping down the beach. Anyways we came away with some great shots. Here is a couple of samples. My favorite is the one of Logan (pink dress).

well I got to shoot the three kitties in our studio. The mom wanted to go outside so I took that opportunity to do a little shoot. So heres some shots of our three kitties. Who doesn't love pics of cute kitties anyways.

New Kitties (anyone want two)

So our cat had kittens the other night in Connie's closet. She is a very skinny cat so we just thought she was getting "plump" from all the food we've been feeding her. We went out to a party and when we come home she was in the middle of giving birth. Cats do some gross things while they are birthing which I know now are completely normal. Here are a couple of pics of the kittens.

Hey everyone,

I am completely new to blogging so try and give me a little slack. Anyways we are working on some cool new plans for Macpherson Family Photography and hopefully this will become a place for us to share our progress and post some cool shots.
